A lucky Peruvian player, Maria M., just won the “Betsson Million”- game after answering all 20 football questions on Friday 6th October. With the winning question netting her just over €245,000, Maria was overjoyed.

“At first, I thought I had only won 1,000 soles (about €245). However, when I saw that I had won 1 million (€245,000), I was shocked. I saw it early in the morning, and I was studying,” Maria told Betsson.

Built as a simple, yet challenging game of statistics and predictions, the game tests your skills in football from all over the world. In fact, the question that earned her the money was not about her local football clubs, but rather a match in the Colombian professional football league; “Will there be a goal in both halves of the match between Junior de Barranquilla and Deportivo Cali in the Colombian football league?”

As the match between Junior de Barranquilla and Deportivo ended 3-2 in Junior’s favour, her answer to the question saw her walking away with the money.

“I liked that the game was quite dynamic, the questions were different, and I had to look up statistics about it. I started the hobby of researching by participating in the promotion,” said the big winner.

Similarly, another answer that helped her on the winning journey had to do with the semi-final of Latin America’s most renowned club cup. And she guessed that the match between Palmeiras of Brazil and their Argentinian rivals Boca Juniors would ‘not’ have more than 10 corner kicks.

According to Maria, “This year has been very difficult. However, my excitement and gratitude are great. I never thought that I would receive this amount of money for playing. Sometimes you think that what bookmakers offer you is pure advertising, but I realized that Betsson is a serious company, and they deliver”.

The Betsson Million Game consists of answering 20 questions. Before starting, the player must wager €25 on any sport to qualify. For answering the first question, the user receives €1 million, which can be used in full on one answer or split into the only two answers the game offers: yes or no. The person moves on to the second question with the amount of money placed on the correct outcome.

After 20 questions, the player wins the amount left in the game and can restart qualification again. Check it out here.
