Who wins the big film awards this year?

Reading time6 min

The Academy Awards is one of the most anticipated events of the year. After the official nominations, we’re looking at the odds and favourites to top the lists. From Hollywood titans to first-time nominees this year’s predictions feature one of the most exciting crowds in the Award’s recent history.

How Nominations Work

Each shortlist is determined by members of the corresponding guild. There are exceptions for International Feature Film and Animated Feature Film that have special voting rules. Members from all branches are eligible to participate if they meet a minimum viewing requirement. Both the nominations and final voting are conducted using online ballots.

The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday, 24th of January, 2023, by Riz Ahmed and star of hit film “M3gan” Allison Williams. The star-studded ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the legendary Dolby Theatre.

Best Odds for this year’s Edition

Betting markets for the 2023 edition of the award show are offering the odds, as entertainment buffs get set for the awards circuit. Of course, many more surprises are to be expected this year.

There is no exact formula for betting on the Academy Awards, but some movie genres have historically done well with critics. We’re looking at movies based on true stories, war-time dramas, explorations of race relations, pictures on the film industry, and scripts based on award-winning novels. Here are the best odds for this year’s nominees.
